On Tuesday, Medics in Bundi, western India, delivered the 24-weeks-old premature baby, which weighed only 350 grams. But after the vulnerable child appeared motionless and would not cry, she was pronounced dead. Yet as the family members were about to bury her, they felt the miracle baby’s heart beating and noticed that she was breathing.
Mithas Rathore, father of the miracle child, described the moment he discovered his baby was alive.
He said: “We took the baby for burial after she was declared dead by the hospital authorities.
“Even the pit had been dug but then we felt her heartbeats and breathing and we rushed the baby back to the hospital.”
Doctors who treated the baby said she was “extremely premature only with the lungs functioning and her survival is hardly possible.”
Dr O P Verma, Deputy Superintendent at the hospital, said doctors have launched an investigation into the bizarre case.
