Eskom Bursary

    Eskom submission no later than 31 July.

    In South Africa just over 94% of electricity is generated by Eskom and close to 46% in Africa. Eskom generates, transmits and distributes electricity to commercial, mining,  industrial, agricultural and residential clients and redistributors. Eskom considers the awarding  the awarding of bursaries as a great contribution to South Africa’s nation skills. Regarding future skills requirements, Eskom realises this initiative enables them to meet their business objectives, which solidifies their skills structure


    Eskom says if you believe that you have what it takes to better their productive force then being part of their team is just for you.


    Types of Eskom bursaries and scholarship


    There are 2 types of bursaries and they are

    • Full time
    • Merit


    Full time

    Bursary is offered based mainly on business needs to  Academic deserving



    Is for financial impoverished learners

    Academic deserving students

    Disabled individuals


    Eskom Scholarship

    This is only to Eskom employees dependents based on academics and years of service in the company.


    The expected fields of study are






    Further education and training


    Students to study at University academic requirement

    English – 5

    Physical Science – 5

    Mathematics – 5


    Students at Techikons or University of technology

    English – 4

    Physical Sciences – 4

    Mathematics – 4


    Further education and training

    English – 3

    Physical Science – 3

    Mathematics – 3


    Who can apply?

    Candidate eligible should have the following requirements

    • South Africa ID
    • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
    • Pass in all registered subjects in the current year.
    • Proof of enrolment by higher education institution
    • Full time students in an accredited institution.
    • Be willing to undergo an interview and medical checkup
